Use this tool to:
- Install and uninstall services
on computers.
Overview
This tool can deploy any service that runs in the default “local system” account as
long as the service does not require support files.
Originally this tool was used to deploy the HWMon service. This service was
required for previous versions of BlackProbe to report on RAM size and HDD usage.
As this service is no longer required (MetaLAN 1.5 and ProbeServer 1.5 and later)
you can use this tool to uninstall the service from the client computers.
There is a service included with MetaLAN that causes clients to sync time with the
domain controller every 4 hours. Use this module to install it. Service files are found
in the "Services" folder under MetaLAN program folder. e.g.: "\Program
Files\Hammer Software\MetaLAN\Services"
Usage
- Click [Add targets] to select the computers you
would like perform the operation on.
- Click [Select new service] to select the service
file you would like to install or
uninstall on the selected computers.
- Click on the radio button that corresponds to
the operation you would like to perform.
- Click [Run] to begin the operation.
When the operation has completed you may click the radio buttons in the “Target
computers” panel or click log to check the results of the operation.
